Exploring the Alpine Loop
First of all, General Conference was AMAZING!! It was just what I needed. So many of the talks on motherhood really spoke to me and brought me comfort in this season of my life.
After the Sunday Afternoon session ended, we jumped in the car with our picnic basket and went for a drive up Alpine Loop. The colors were so beautiful! We stopped at Cascade Springs to walk around and let Will get his wiggles out, but conveniently he fell asleep right when we got there...so Braden and I just talked in the car until he woke up. It was nice to have that time to talk about Braden's job offers. Then we walked around, and ate Braden's delicious veggie sandwiches on the drive home.
Kind of a tangent here, but lately Will loves getting outside. Every morning after breakfast he brings his shoes over to me and says "ssskkk" for "sock" and "ssshhhhhuu" for "shoes" and waits for me to help him put them on. Once he has his socks and shoes on, he says, "jcckkkt", so I put on his jacket. He knows the drill! haha Once he has his socks, shoes, and jacket on, he walks over to the door and waits for me to open it while saying, "kkrrrr" (car). He knows and LOVES his morning routine. If I ever miss the gym and don't take him to play with his friends at Child Watch, he stands by the door with his shoes and cries, saying "kkrrr, kkrrr"! I guess that's good motivation for me to get to the gym every morning! ha
Will also loves playing at the playground with other Wyview kids, so I've been taking him to play almost every day. He recently figured out how to go down the slide by himself and loves it! He always goes down backwards while yelling "Weeeee" with the biggest grin on his face. It's really cute! He's also learning how to share toys at the playground. This week we've been reminding him to say "please" when he wants something, so he'll walk around the playground following other kids and saying, "pppeasssss" while patting his chest (he is trying to do the sign for please). As soon as a kid gives him a toy, he'll go, "MUUUAAH!" It makes all the parents at the playground laugh, especially us!! I don't think I've laughed so hard in months. Will thinks that "Muah" is the same as "Thank You" because the sign for thank you and for blowing kisses are almost identical. So now instead of signing, "thank you", he just says "Muuaah" with all the passion in the world!
Anyway, we love Will so much. He continues to surprise us every day with new sounds, words, and observations. This is such a fun age!!
Will loves to be silly!
