December was so much fun!! I turned 24 (Nov. 30th), bought my first medium-format film camera (Rolleiflex Automat 3.5), and celebrated with a couple of date-nights. Braden had two weeks off of work and school (one plus of still being students)! Both William and I LOVED IT. It was so nice to just be together with no responsibilities to pull us apart. We spent lots of time with family, played games, watched movies, wrapped presents, made treats, took film-camera selfies, coded, laughed together, cried together, snuggled, and took naps.
That’s probably the biggest reason I love the month of December so much. It’s a reminder to slow down, spend quality time with those you love, and to let gratitude fill your heart. We are so grateful for our Savior, who fills our hearts, our family, and our home with so much love and hope. He is our greatest gift this year, and every year.
William enjoyed another wonderful Christmas, this time with less unwrapping and more snacking. His favorite moments included finding Animal Crackers with Lions on the wrapper, opening his two Simba lions, and giving hugs to everyone. It was so fun to watch him open and play with his new toys.
He basically hasn’t let go of little Simba since Christmas day. He takes him everywhere, naps with him, eats with him, takes him on car rides, and sleeps with him. It’s really cute. Since his obsession with The Lion King is at an all-time high though, we’ve kept our TV hidden under my desk. With that said, we basically listen to The Lion King Soundtrack all day. His favorite song is “Hakuna Matata.” He has even started singing along — it’s so funny!
I hope you enjoy watching our little highlight video. We are grateful to all of our family and friends who made the holiday season special this year. We love you!
