Putting up the Christmas Tree with a Toddler

We’ve had so much fun putting up the Christmas tree with Will this year. He was so obsessed with putting the “baa” on the “tee”. If you haven’t watched our November Highlight Reel, you should see his excitement for yourself. He was SO excited and it made Braden and I so happy to see him enjoying this experience. Somehow we finished with zero broken ornaments, even with a toddler helping us! ha

I just want to share a few shots we got on our new 35mm Elan 7 film camera while putting up the tree. We shot this on HP5 B&W film, underexposed in camera (rated at 1600 ISO) and pushed two stops in development by theFINDlab. I love how they turned out! I know these photos will be special to look back on and remember what the holidays were like when we were still in school and living in family student housing.

I can’t believe Christmas is less than two weeks away! I am so excited for Christmas this year. I’m excited to watch William experience the holiday magic for himself and enjoy time with family. Last year he was only 6 months old, so he’ll be a lot more engaged with what’s going on this year. But most of all, I’m excited to slow down, spend quality time with Braden and Will, and remember what Christmas is really all about — our Savior. He is the reason I am able to overcome my struggles and weaknesses. He is the reason I have a beautiful family who I am sealed to for eternity. He is the reason for the celebration, the peace, and the joy that we feel every day, and especially this time of year. I am so grateful for everything He has done for me, and continues to do for me and my little family. I’m so grateful.
