William is ONE! I still can’t believe that my little baby is growing up. As I’ve reflected on this last year with him, I’ve just been filled with gratitude and joy! He’s brought so much happiness, fun, laughter, and light into our lives.
It’s crazy to think that this time last year I was giving birth to William, unsure of motherhood, or my ability to take care of a little human! We’ve come so far since then as I’ve learned to rely on God, Braden, and family more than ever before. Each day is a blessing and a mystery that continues to unfold as Will learns new things, grows, and develops his own personality.
Will is a very happy one- year-old who loves to smile and laugh. I love that about him. He’s also very determined, curious, active, and eager to try new things. We are grateful that he is so healthy and strong!
June 1st was kind of a crazy day as we were moving into a new apartment, but we managed to pull off a little birthday party for him thanks to our families. We enjoyed celebrating him, watching him open and play with new toys, and of course, eat his first cake. I thought he’d destroy his cake, but I was wrong. He delicately grabbed pieces and put them into his mouth one at a time. At one point he almost smashed his face into the cake–but he got scared when we all started laughing and just went back to picking up pieces! It was really cute and funny.
I want to thank my mother-in-law, Dorothy, for making his beautiful cake, and my mom for helping with decorations and babysitting William so we could get most of the move done before his birthday party!
It was a fun and nostalgic day celebrating Will in his transition from a baby, to a toddler. Here’s a batch of photos that will make you want to squish those little cheeks of his!
There is no shortage of love from his aunts, uncles, and grandparents!
Presents! He was spoiled with lots of toys and clothes!
